School Girl

I remember clearly looking at mothers with children in school and thinking, "wow, I'm so glad that that is like forever away for us". I really did think like that. I will be the first to admit that I get tired and overwhelmed through out the day, and am more than ready for the kiddos to be in bed by 7 or 8 at night. BUT I do try to cherish the time I have with them, I know it goes by fast ,and that is not just something that old people say to you in the grocery store.

Brynlee is a lot of fun to be around. In the past few years she has really taken an interest in the things that I do. For example she loves to help me bake, she loves to help me make bows, and she loves to sit down with me and clip coupons! This makes me giddy that she LOVES this stuff as I do! In fact she asks me all the time "Mom, will you teach me everything that you know how to do"? Is that precious or what?!

My point in all this is that I will miss that little girl for 7 hours of the day now that she is a kindergartner. By the way that is a LONG time to have your child away from you!

In some ways I was totally ready to have her at school and in many ways I was not.

-She told me a few days before the whole school thing that she would cry a little bit when she left me!

-She was very excited yet very apprehensive (even more so than I thought she would be)

-Baltimore county cancelled the first 2 days of school due to Hurricane Irene, needless to say it has been a crazy few days.

-She was very responsible this morning in getting ready, which is great for me since I have to get 2 other children to get dressed and out the door as well.

These first 3 photo's are actually from Brynlee's orientation day (or 20 minutes I should say) It was her and I together and she got to see her class room and meet her teacher.

Addy's going to miss her right hand man!

I Love that she was giving me the classic "love you" sign as she was walking on the bus. That made me happy!

Brynlee did not say a lot this morning yet still was excited for her new adventure. We walked to the bus stop and waited.

The bus pulled up and she waited, looked at the bus, looked at me with a very hesitant look, looked back at the bus, gave me the usual goodbye (hugs, kisses, love you's) and then went on her way. I think she was pleased as punch to finally be riding a big yellow bus!

It felt weird to walk off with out her, very weird. I had an empty feeling, yet had a moment of gratitude that I was blessed enough to stay home with this gem of a girl for the first almost 6 years of her life, that I count as a huge blessing. Then the spirit also reminded me that I have 2 other children to enjoy all day every day for a bit longer.

The day went well. Addy and I baked cookies for the big arrival home from the first-day-of-school. The three of us went to the library, which means trying my hardest to keep Trey from yelling. Then it was off to the school to pick up our new school girl. It was a fabulous, yet emotional day all wrapped in one!!

Other Texas Trip Pictures

I've gotten Dad into green smoothies these days and he is almost as crazy about them as I am, I love it! Gramps has to cut down on this sugar intake so he has been drinking these like crazy as well!

We had a fun girls lunch and it was wonderful to all be together. It was fun to see Melissa and Elizabeth.

Munner and Gramps took us to the DQ for a quick burger. I really did enjoy the time I got to spend with them. I sure am grateful for such caring loving grandparents!

Addy was afraid of the new dog so spent most of the time on Munners lap; Munner loved it of course.

I had actually been a really long time since I had see Melissa, it was great to catch up!

We took a quick trip over to Dallas to see the Jensens. They just put in a new pool and it was a super treat for the kids... and me!

The three of us went and had pedicures, that was a treat!!!

I was mad at myself for not getting the whole family, but here is Niki with the 2 cute new dogs.

The trip was great! We had to leave 2 days early because of hurricane Irene. It was crazy to leave at such spur the moment, but it was the best thing to do!

Presley Grace

I was very lucky to be in Lubbock when Nicole gave birth to miss Presley. I made a visit up to the hospital (all alone) and was in heaven holding that sweet baby.

I love those new born babies!

Love them to pieces.

Presley is the first girl born to the Davis grandchild since Addyson so it's nice to have some more estrogen in the family.

Congratulations to Jeremy, Nicole and Spencer!

Munner & Gramps

These photos really do mean the world to me! I did a terrible job at taking pictures while in Texas this summer, but I'm so glad I did not forget to get these.

They are priceless to me!

Trey

I could have watched this sweet boy play with those toys all day. I was amazed at how interested he was in the "new" toys at Mema and Pepa's house. I love to watch children discover new things.

He was in heaven with the "big boy" tinker toys and legos!

Addyson

It was too fun getting shots of my little ham Addy and learning my new camera! This girl is SO much fun to be around! And she is a doll!

Maryland Crab

We bought a few small crab at a local crab shop. Nathan wanted to get the full Baltimore experience while here. Ethan and I wanted to try as well. All I can say it it's a LOT of work for a little amount of meat! We could have got great big crab that might had been more enjoyable, but we did not have a great big budget!

That night Nathan grilled us some awesome steaks which made for a really nice meal. Ethan said it was defiantly one of the best steaks he'd eaten! We sure are going to miss have good ol Nate here with us, he has been a joy!
